Mom's Award Function

My mom got felicitated with an award and I was dancing in cloud nine. What more could a daughter ask for. I was so glad and my mom said I should attend the function. Well, why wouldn't I?
Well, now came the tricky part - What to wear? I had to look kinda formal, though not too stiff. I had to dress up, but not too blingy or out of place, as my mom is the centre point and not me!!! So, I finalised on a simple LBD with statement jewellery.
Yes, its the same LBD, err. I mean Li'l Brown Dress which I wore here. But here with leggings and statement jewellery.
Sorry for the glare in this shot... :(
Yes, I was sweating by the time this pic was taken.
Thanks to the astonishing humidity of Chennai summer.

Well, on a totally different note, this gorgeous lady received her lifetime achievement award for her services. She is Ms. Thuraimuga Lakshmi. Believe me, she's 91 yrs old. And more astonishing is that she's an M.A. of that pre-independence era. It was mind blowing talking to her. She runs a home called Uthavum Ullam, which is for orphan children, destitute women, handicapped supportless people etc. The kids go to school, the adults do the daily chores here, they learn some skills etc. Several kids had come with her to share the joy. These kids were dressed in their best outfits. All of them, no matter what their age was, called her 'Amma' which means mother. 2 of those kids, came to me to see the shots I had taken and kissed me on my cheeks as a token of thanks. I was so glad.
I am bringing this here, to put forward a request. Do help them, if not in cash, in kind atleast. Anything would be of use to them, as they have people of every sort - kids, handicapped adults, old people, everyone. May be a few of your old garments in good condition, or a day with them if you're in and around Chennai, or a free medical checkup if you're a doc, anything that you can think of, will be of use to them.

Here are their details:
