Bride's Maid Look - Green & Orange Anarkali

One more of my best friend got married and it was in a quaint town filled with heritage and culture down south, called Chidambaram. Here are my Travelogue posts of the places I wandered in this beautiful town: Pichavaram, Natarajar Temple, Anandeeswarar Temple.
Her wedding happened pretty much near the Natarajar Temple and this is what I wore to her wedding.
Dress: Bhushavali [Made of Natural Dyed Khadi (Handspun Handloom)]
Leggings: From a Street Shop in Chennai
Footwear: From a Street Shop in Delhi
Clutch: From a Street Shop in Chennai
Yeah, this top indeed has a teeny weeny story behind it. One thing was that I always wanted an empire line dress with lots of flare. Second this was that when I saw this orange, red batik work saree (Yeah, it WAS a saree!!), I decided this saree was gonna become my top. I combined it with a green fabric for the top portion added some sequins, painted details and zari lace work and ahoy, there was my top. With so much going on, on the top, I got this skin colored legging to balance that top.
Makeup base: Lakme 9 to 5 Creme Compact in Marble

Rouge: Lakme Pure Rouge Blusher in Peach Affair
Earrings Main: Tanishq

  6. Lovely dress! I think I would have paired it with different coloured shoes, though, and maybe heels instead of flats :)

    1. I would have paired it with heels too if the venue was more accessible. It happened in a village, so you know, the restrictions... I couldn't go as I would in a city... :)

  14. I was able to attend a traditional Indian wedding at one of the Long Island wedding venues. Your dress is so much prettier than those I saw, to be perfectly honest. You look great in it, too.
