Egyptian Jewellery anyone - Azza Fahmy???

When I was in college, while studying art history, I did have a partiality towards Egyptian civilization. Yes, there are those huge pyramids. But then there are tons more of things that fascinates me about Egypt. Tutankhamen to be the first and foremost, the amazing jewellery the pharaohs wore, the papyrus, the hieroglyphs, the murals... I've loved it all!!!
Recently, at an art event, I met a wonderful lady from Egypt. She was from Azza Fahmy jewelry brand. Azza Fahmy is after the founder's name. The jewelry are made by mastercraftsmen in mostly gold and silver. These craftsmen still follow the ancient Ottoman tradition, and the art is taught by master to trainer to trainee and everything is handmade and authentic to their tradition.
These pieces below again are made of mixing gold and silver, and are from their latest collections - Nostaligia and Pharaonic.
The necklace is called 'Fruit of Nile' necklace. It has lotus and rosette charms that symbolizes life and prosperity. The Cuff is called 'The Cuff tale: Transcending Happiness', which has several good symbolization from Ancient Egypt including Scarab (for transformation), Sun disk, offering table with fruits of Nile, lotus, Hieroglyphs, etc....

This winged Scarab bracelet stands for protection and transformation...

This is Wedjat - Eyes ring which is an amulet!!! It depicts eyes of Horus, and rosette.

Aren't these pieces so cute! These were developed by the local school kids inspired by river Nile - the blue color, forts beside them, sails on them etc, under their foundation's project Nubre!!!

Some more simpler pieces from their other collections...

  3. That these were made by school kids is amazing. Wish someone teaches our kids the same way something that's as valuable as these...

BTW, what's the approximate cost (range may be?) of these pieces... ?
