Travel Style - Asymmetric Snakeskin Print Top

Two weeks back was my Wedding Anniversary and we chose to spend the weekend in Munnar. Munnar is a small town in Tamil Nadu and Kerala border, and was called the Scotland of India by the Englishmen when India was under the British Raj. It’s a hill station known for tea plantations, located at a height of 5000 ft above sea level and it has the perfect climate.
Honestly, the climate was more similar to southern England which has more of a perfectly comfortable, chill weather than to Scotland, which has more of a freezing uncomfortable weather more often than not. Well, venturing to this place would definitely mean packing some winterwear.
Top: Jean Paul Gaultier
Trousers: Primark
Blue Floral Printed Sneakers: New Chic
Black Shoes with Golden Sequins: Lifestyle
Earrings: Handmade by an artisan from Assam
That’s what I wore on Day 1 when we went on a trek atop Kannan Devan Plantation Hills. Guess where I found that top - in a seconds shop! Believe me!!! Well, it is a weird cut and there wouldn’t have been many takers for it. When it is flat on ground, it looks like a square with neck at an edge and sleeve in different directions and waist as one side! It is too asymmetrical, but on wearing it, it falls beautifully. Later on, I also found the same exact cut on Romwe too and bought that too. Remember it? Both these are my favourite winterwear from my wardrobe.
Since both of us have gone through the pain of jumping from London’s winter to Chennai’s summer, this was such a welcome break. Also, we didn’t need that much of a heavy winter wear, because even at 5000ft above sea level, the temperature there was around 12° - 18° C. I do have those heavy long jackets that I used to wear when the temperature hits below 5°. But here, a light winter wear like this top and a shawl were all I took for myself.
Just like me, my guy too has a couple of heavy men’s winter jackets. But for this trip I packed this light sweatshirt for him. On our trek, we were accompanied by a guide who was wearing a gilet. Guess what? Atop the hill, both the guys removed their winterwears and I, my shawl. The effort of trekking was making us sweat slightly even in that cool climate!
Completely comfy sitting on a hammock!!! That pic is from the resort we stayed in – Windermere Estate, Munnar. More about the hotel, the trek and Munnar on the whole is coming up soon on My Travelogue. Stay tuned!

  3. The top looks great and comfortable. But I'd personally won't wear anything with this type of print because I'm ophidiophobiac.

  5. Prints like this do not look good with just anyone. It needs a certain look and attitude for it to work. You are lucky to have both.
