Birthday Outfit - Soft Pastels in Khadi

Pastels for Spring - Orange, Pink, Green combo
So here comes what I wore on my birthday! Mint green is so in this season and I'm falling in love with colored jeans ever since I tried that pink trousers from iknowstudio, and when I spotted this at Globus recently, I bought it! I combined it with summery pink & orange kurti...
The jean is colored by a technique called over dyeing and they're called 'over-dyed' jeans! Normally in our regular blue denims, if you look into the inside of the jeans, it would be more of white than blue. That's called 'yarn-dyed' technique. But then, here, the fabric is dyed and that too is dyed too much, so it gets is a very deep hue. After that these denims are dried in sun for long for the color fades. This results in a softer color, softer texture to touch, and to some extent unique pieces coz, since its sun dried, each piece dries and fades is a slightly different way. 
On a totally different note, here in south India, baby shower is called Valaikappu. Valai means bangles and Kaappu means protection. And during the baby shower function the lady is customarily stacked with several glass bangles, atleast 60+ in each hand. Every guest of the function is also gifted with bangles. They may be just 2 or an entire dozen depending on the budget. So, why am I talking about his now. Well, I have some 5 boxes of such assorted glass bangles received as gift in several baby shower functions. I mix matched some pinks in it and here's the effect!

 Btw, when I was there in Globus, Phoenix Mall this time to buy the jean, I was attended by this young chap called Baskar from Calcutta. He was just an intern there, but his way to dealing with customers was so so good. He made me feel like a princess! I had a bit of difficulty in finding those shoes and he made sure I got it! Honestly Globus would be lucky to have him into its sales section, permanently!!!
