Coming Sunday (7th August) has been declared by the Ministry of Textiles of Indian Govt as Handloom Day. As the day arrives, our Textile Minister Smt.Smriti Irani has come up with a rather innovative idea - 'Selfie with Handloom' campaign where she has asked everyone to sport their handloom outfit & share it on social media with the tag #IWearHandloom. The campaign has been supported by the Fashion Design Council of India.

The hashtag is going viral and both twitter & instagram are filled pics! However sadly, I do notice that the awareness level among general public isn't as much as it should be. I do see a lots of handi craft being tagged as Handloom. There IS a difference!
All Khadi is Handloom while all Handloom isn't Khadi. Here's a post in detail of the differences between Khadi & Handloom. Handcrafted clothing like tie & dye (incl bandhni, leharia), batik, metal embroidery (incl aari, zardozi), thread embroidery (incl phulkari, rabari, gujarati, rajasthani, pipli etc), fabric painting (incl Madhubani) are more often than not, made on mill made fabric (sometimes even leather) than handloom fabric. Yes, all of them are handicraft and handmade in the village of India and the crafts need to be supported. Just that these aren't handloom and cannot be mistaken as handloom.

As you know, most of my personal clothing have always been Khadi, Handloom or Handicraft. My clothing brand Bhushavali Eco Fashion is to promote Khadi and Handloom which are my personal interests than handicraft!!! Guess what gave me THAT expression??!!!

It was Mint O UltraMintz!!! Oh yeah, it so cool, indeed!!! Its cooler than any of the mints I've ever had.

I'm such a sucker for mints. For almost 2 years, I ate mint everyday once, till I finally gave up on the 'addiction'! I've had every other brand of mint that's available in India. The maximum I've had was probably MintO Gol, coz I loved its chewy feel. And then I fell in love with MintO Gol Orange, coz of its tangy taste along with the minty chewiness. The recent addition to the list is MintO UltraMintz. And this gives the most cooling effect of them all!

It comes in a little tin packaging that I love! It has a flip open cap and there's something like plastic sifter-like cap with a single hole big enough to let one mint out at a time. There are 60 pellets in a pack that costs 50 bucks! Yes, that's marginally high priced than the other mints here!!! The ingredients are Sorbitol, Magnesium Stearate and Sucralose. The flavouring agents are of Peppermint and Menthol imported from France. Since sucralose in present, sugar is absent in this, so technically its sugar-free!!!

Btw, see that expression, in the first pic? Yeah, that's my way of telling you how 'cooling' it was. That inspired me to come up with an outfit post with Mint Green, Cool blue, and Frosty Ice Blue and chill feel!!! Like it?
