Gaghra Choli Challenge - Part 1
Time for a Wardrobe Challenge
Sometime back I made a post on how I wore a Gaghra as an off-shoulder dress, by wearing it at bust level, layering it with a skin colored turtle neck tee! Wondering what's a Gaghra Choli? Well, its a Tradtitional Indian Maxi Skirt and Top which is usually a bridal wear (or for brides maids) and is decked up a lot with embroidery, stones, mirrors, golden zari etc, Check out more about it in my earlier post.Well, my own post inspired me and I challenged myself to come up with some more looks with the same outfit! So here comes 2 looks, one casual and one formal, using the Choli in a different way!!!!
The first idea was to wear the Choli with a simple midi skirt. Since the Choli is heavily embroidered, I decided to keep the rest of the outfit simple, with a plain skirt, tousled pony with my hair and a couple of chunky wooden bangles!
Top: Choli from the Gaghra Choli set!
Skirt: Bhushavali [made of Natural dyed Khadi (Handspun Handloom) fabric]
Shoes: c/o Wholesale-orders.com
Wooden Bangles: Handmade by artisans of Chennapatna
Red Bracelet: Mayajaal, Chennai
For the second look, I took up a formal styling. Since the Choli had a purple applique work, I pulled out my dearest Zovi purple jeans. To enhance the formal look, I added my wine colored blazer and made a french twist with my hair.
Top: Choli from the Gaghra Choli set!
Purple cropped jean: c/o Zovi.com
Blazer: Naidu Hall, Chennai
Shoes: c/o Wholesale-orders.com
And that's the close up of the hand embroidered detail incl. applique and mirror work, on the Choli!
Btw, coming up with a my 3rd & 4th looks using the Gaghra and Choli separately! Wait n watch!!!

I like a lot your outfits, especially because you used traditional elements. For me is very important to use traditional prints and clothes, because we can find in them the original beauty :).
