Travel Style - Gaudi inspired Multicolors

When I went to Barcelona, I had a few thoughts in my mind on what to wear. One, I was gonna sleep in the airport, so it had to be trousers or shorts (skirts & dresses were out of question). Two, Barcelona is synonymous with Gaudi and Gaudi is synonymous with colors, multi colors, jewel tones, stained glasses & art noveau!!! So I wanted to wear something that signifies the awesome colors of Barcelona in my outfit.

The 1st & 2nd pics are me half dead in the airport after spending 2 nights at the airport, clicked with mobile phone with bad lighting. Yeah, the next night was also spent at the airport!!! I was city-hopping with flights either at late nights or early mornings, so I just slept in airports for 3 consecutive days. Haaaa.... That entire story is coming up soon on My Travelogue.
Tee: George at Asda
Jeggings: Primark
Shrug: Handmade by an artisan from Orissa
Shoes: Puma
Dangler Earrings: Thrifted from a Flea Market in Chennai
Just a few days before going to Barcelona, I had gone shopping to Primark in London to get a few jeans & jeggings and one of it was a stunning tomato red. So I chose to wear it with a basic black tee and layer with my dearest shrug with hand embroidered applique work of Pipli in Orissa.

As I already said, Barcelona is synonymous with Gaudi and here I'm standing at Casa Batllo & Casa Mila, 2 of Gaudi's masterpieces, from the 3rd pic onwards. Isn't it all just impeccably colorful & quirky??? Its all protected under UNESCO as well!!! Read all about my Barcelona trip on My Travelogue blog!

  7. For once I have actually been to a place you are describing. :-) This Gaudi garden in Barcelona is really a very memorable place to visit for its eccentricity in design and color.

  8. I thought that Indian colours are already gaudy enough and here you are saying Barcelona is more gaudy. HAHAHA Your shrug looks striking on you, though.
