Pondicherry Fashion Week 2015 - Manoviraj Khosla
Continuing Pondicherry Fashion Week with Manoviraj Khosla. I've been in love with him ever since my college days. One of my college assignments was on him and it was way too much of happiness to see him in person and have a chat with him!
This was my theme board on his collection 'In Diaphanous Swirls' and illustrations that I did in my 2nd yr of college in 2006 inspired by his designs! Illustrations are hand drawn.
Over to his collection at Kingfisher Ultra Pondicherry Fashion Week. Many of his garments had matching male & female outfits. This particular grey & black suits caught my attention. The bold cut out shapes - floral, geometric - very interesting. I tried to strain my eyes and look into what has he done with the fabrics, as the model walked on the ramp and I couldn't make out. Later on, on chatting with Moniviraj he said the fabric is linen in grey and velvet in black with faux suede laser cut in certain shapes and stuck onto it!!!
His garments were sexy and glamorous! Lot of shiny satin fabrics & sequinned fabrics. Though few were colorful with blues, pinks & greens, most were more metallic with silver, golden & copper tints!!!
Most of his garments were draped. Beautiful flowy fabrics that draped around the body so beautifully, making the wearer sexier and glamorous, revealing a bit, hiding a bit, playing the perfect peek a boo.
The swim suit range was just too beautiful, with sheer fabrics draped over the bikinis the outfits were just gorgeous! The best part however was the music! As the models walked the ramp, the background score was live by a band called One Nite Stand! No, I'm not kidding. That's the name of the band. The lead singer of the band Behram Siganporia rocked the evening with his electric guitar, and models did a bit of hip shake on the ramp. Behram lit the ramp on fire so much that Manoviraj Khosla, & his models, at the end of the show was jumping on the ramp!!!
