Semi Formal Look - Gandhiji Tee

Recently I laid my hands on this Gandhi Tee! Well, what's the best way to pair a Gandhi Tee with? Ofcourse, with something in Khadi! If you don't know what I'm talking about - well, Gandhiji was the person who promoted the traditional Indian fabric called Khadi, which is a Hand-spun Hand-woven fabric. Traditionally these fabrics were colored in colors obtained from nature. Khadi is something so eco-friendly fabric that always has a personal touch, coz its totally hand made!!!
With that said, yes, the best way to combine a Gandhi print tee is with something in Khadi. So I paired it with this skirt is made by me with natural dyed Khadi fabric with a zari border!!!

Tee: WYO c/o UnwrapIndia.com
Skirt: Bhushavali [made of natural dyed Khadi (Handspun Handloom) fabric]
Chunky heels: From a Flea Market in Mumbai
Turban: Bhushavali [made of 2 Natural Dyed Khadi (Handspun Handloom) scarves]
Its DIY coming up in next post!!!
Bangle: Handmade by an artisan from Chennapatna

Now back to the tee - its by a company called WYO! WYO??? Well, it stands for Wear Your Opinion. They come up with such beautiful tees that are about various social, political, popular issues doodled in such funny and catchy ways! They have a series of tees inspired by Gandhi, esp. Gandhiji's 3 monkeys! They also have a series of tees inspired by movies - like Sholay (with 'Kitne Aadmi The!!!); Iron man (depicting road side Iron wallah!); Superman (depicting Rajini Kant!)!!! The tees are utter fun! Check 'em out!!!
The tee was gifted to my UnwrapIndia.com. UnWrapIndia or UWI is an online shopping site begun in early 2011. Its specialty is to promote Indian arts and sells 100% Made in India products!  They conducted a contest earlier this year in October during Gandhi Jayanthi (Gandhiji's Birthday) for which I was gifted this tee!

  21. Hey, love the bangle! I remember stopping at Chennapatna once on a road trip, there were so many wooden artifacts shops there, I picked up some stuff for the kitchen then but no accessories. Seeing your bangle brings back fond memories!
