London Fashion Week 2016 - Ethologie

The best part of being in London during February or September is getting to be a part of London Fashion Week and yours truly was lucky enough this time to be here!
I came to know of Ethologie by Jasper Garvida as soon as I reached London, thanks to his amazing attention to detail - his hand embroidered clothing and bright colors of his last collection made me his fan. Now, over to his new autumn winter collection.

Quite unlike last Spring Summer collection which was gorgeously colorful, this Autumn Winter Collection was gorgeously monochromatic with black white and a hundred shades of grey! As usual, the cuts were clean and minimalist and feminine.

Jasper Garvida has utilized several fabrics in the collection - lace, leather, silk, georgette, chiffons, metallic lurex, jersey, and the very special British wool - Alpaca! The juxtaposition of flowy chiffons with glittery sequins, metallic yarns with alpaca wool, delicate laces against rigid leather, was fabulous.
What made his fan was obviously his attention to detail - the laser cut leathers, hand embroidered jersey, sequin & beaded details, chunky knits etc etc etc. The almost-black grey nails by Jessica, leather accessories by Una Burke and quirky eyeglasses (solid covered with pixel holes on it!!!) were perfect enhancements!!!

  8. I would already call some these pieces as haute couture. No one will be wearing them in real life. Maybe the knits some people can pull off.
