More Lip Balms - Omved!!!
You know I love lip balms. You've seen my stash of lip balms in 4 different posts in this blog (here, here, here and here). Here comes the 5th post!!! And this time its a herbal brand called Omved. This is manufactured in India, but belongs to a German firm called J E Hammer Group!
Best things about this brand are that its PeTA approved, so its 100% veg & animal friendly and not tested on animals, its herbal - developed with ancient Ayurvedic formulations, it comes with Green Packaging seal meaning there's no plastic or non bio degradable stuff in packaging, it has no harsh chemicals.
Omved has a range of skin & hair stuff, yoga & fitness requirements, home & lifestyle stuff, organic clothing etc!
In the skin care range, when it comes to lip balms, there are 2 flavours. One is Cinnamon and another is Mint. I wanted to try out Cinnamon so badly coz Omved seems to be the only brand that has a Cinnamon flavoured lip balm. But sadly I couldn't get that and I got to try Mint flavoured one! Its called Omved Mint Lip Balm!
It comes in a small circular tin packaging. I am a sucker for tin packaged stuff - it reminds me of the tin storage cases with beautiful retro prints atop!!! Anyways, back to Omved, this is a 8gm pack.
The ingredients are Kokum & Shea Butter, Almond & Mint oils. It has a shelf life of 2 years. Its offwhite colored in the tin. On picking up with the finger and applying, it gets transparent. The consistency is thin. When compared to most other lip balms, its very thin and doesn't feel heavy on the lips. But sadly, it not enough for me!!! It doesn't nourish my lips much... Also its staying power was not very good. However its not sticky coz it doesn't have petroleum jelly which I like!
The Macadamia, Sunflower in the ingredients makes it also function as a sunscreen which is great. Can't give the SPF factor though! And, its a bit pricey at Rs.250/-!!!
The Mint is awesome. It instantly gives a cooling effect onto the lips and it tastes great! Come on - Mint - in a lip balm - makes you want to eat it too!!!! Lolz!
The product was gifted by the company for reviewing purpose, however the opinions are of my own experience and are this post does not to advertise the product.
